West End Community Sports Hub

A number of strong clubs in the West End are part of the West End Community Sports Hub with the aim of linking with the local community and local schools to provide affordable sporting opportunities for all. Member clubs utilise a variety of facilities throughout the West End including Elliot Road, Harris Academy and Riverside Pitches.

The West End Community Sports Hub offers a wide range of sports:

Dundee Area Badminton Association: Dundee Area Badminton Association is currently the umbrella organisation for 16-member clubs and oversees the organisation of badminton in Dundee. DABA organise the adult badminton leagues consisting of men’s doubles, ladies’ doubles and mixed doubles, with teams comprising three ladies and three men.

Harris Academy FP Hockey Club: Harris Academy FP Hockey club is one of the most established hockey clubs in Dundee providing hockey for adults and juniors at all levels of Scottish Hockey. Harris Academy FP Hockey Club is working very hard to develop youth hockey and has strong links with local primary and secondary schools. The club allows young players to develop their skills in a friendly environment at their own pace with the opportunity to play socially or competitively.

Harris Academy FP Rugby Club: Harris Academy FP Rugby Club are the main adult rugby club in the West End of Dundee. Established in 1926 as Harris Academy Union Rugby Club this later became Harris Academy Former Pupil Rugby Football Club as it is now known. The club currently competes in the Caledonia Midlands League Division 2.

Kinloch Cricket Club: Founded in 1905, Kinloch Cricket Club has 4 teams, ranging from a junior team up to a senior team. The club aim to move to be located from Elliot Road in 2022.

Riverside West End Football Club: Riverside West End Football Club is the main football club in the West End of Dundee providing opportunities for boys and girls. The club was formed in 2009 and has worked closely with the SFA to gain quality mark status which ensures the correct management and structure of the club. A significant development for the club was in 2016 when it successfully gained charity status.

West End Tennis Club: West End Tennis Club is located in the heart of Dundee’s West End on Shaftesbury Road. The club offers all weather tennis courts which allows tennis to be played throughout the year. The club provides opportunities for juniors through to veterans either socially or competitively with professional coaching sessions also available.
