Dr Tom Christie has been writing about the themes and history of Christmas cinema for over ten years. He is the author of "A Righteously Awesome Eighties Christmas" (2016), "The Golden Age of Christmas Movies" (2019), and now "A Totally Bodacious Nineties Christmas" (2022). Join us to hear Tom talk about how the Christmas film has been developed over the decades, and explain what it is about this timeless genre that has remained popular for generations.

Tom Christie is the author of eighteen books, on subjects including modern cinema, retro computing and popular culture. He holds a PhD in Scottish Literature from the University of Stirling, and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2018. In addition to his writing, he co-hosts the "Traditionally Speaking" podcast with American author Joe Moore which explores the differences in Christmas traditions between Scotland and the USA.
