Fairfield Sports & Leisure Club SCIO
Our growing family of sports include:
Football: There are a number of teams operating from our sports hub at present. We have pre-school football, 4v4, grassroots, pathway, amateur and junior teams with our aim in getting to Professional level.
Rugby: We are at present in discussions with two teams who have expressed their interest in being affiliated with our facility.
Boxing: Considering the prospectus offered by professional BBBofC coach Mike C. we are confident that future champions will be in the making within this club.
Hockey: We have had considerable interest from both existing and new hockey teams with reference to our current development of a new grass playing field at Fairfield Park.
Cheerleading: Ace Cheerleading are a long established and well respected co-ed group of dedicated individuals from Peewee to senior age groups.
Majorettes: Fairfield Majorettes have gone from strength to strength and now have over 70 children from 5 years old upward.
Disability: Terry Gray whom has coached for children and adults with disabilities and had success at the Special Olympics has approached the club to expand on our facilities and develop a pathway for football and disability in sport to the highest level.
This year has seen a number of new developments. The first was in January when we finally received our SCIO status. The second is the acquisition and modernisation of the Fairfield Social Club (formerly The Drumgieth Inn). The procurement of this facility will help with the day to day running and expansion costs of the club. The third project is the development of a new grass playing field which would be suitable for hockey and other field sports. It is envisaged that both these facilities will be completed by April and August respectively.
Continuing with our expansion plans, we are now seeking funding for Phase 1 and 2 of our 3 phase development proposal. This would see the construction of a 1300m2 purpose built multi-sport facility and a Fifa 2 and IRB 22, 3G Synthetic Grass Sports Pitch, associated flood lighting and fencing enclosure which would enable multi-sport use on a daily bases and also be suitable for league matches within the various disciplines (an option not commonly found on most 3G Sport Pitches).
