Join us at The McManus for a fascinating evening exploring one of humanity's biggest questions: What is reality?

In this special in-conversation event, Professor Catherine Heymans, Astronomer Royal for Scotland, will discuss her new book, How to Design a Universe: The Science of Real and Virtual Worlds. Blending cutting-edge astrophysics with wit and imagination, Catherine takes readers on a mind-bending journey through the science behind reality itself, from the nature of our universe to the possibilities of virtual worlds.

Catherine will be joined by Dundee-born multimedia artist and writer Gillian Eilidh O'Mara for a thought-provoking discussion on how science, art and storytelling help us explore profound questions about the universe and our place within it. Together they will consider how imagined worlds can inspire scientific discovery, challenge our perceptions and open new ways of understanding reality.

Whether you are fascinated by astronomy, passionate about art, or simply curious about the nature of existence, this promises to be an engaging and stimulating conversation.

A book signing will follow the event. The £22 ticket option includes a copy of How to Design a Universe: The Science of Real and Virtual Worlds.
