Community Sport Hub of the Lochee Area

Through consultation with local people, it has been identified that there are not enough sport and leisure activities taking place in Lochee for local people. To support with this a new Community Sport Hub of the Lochee Area has been created.

The Community Sport Hub brings together local sports clubs and partners from the Lochee area to understand community need and create new opportunities for people of all ages to participate in sport and physical activity. The Community Sport Hub of the Lochee Area is a geographical hub and not one central facility therefore the hub can run activity at any place in the Lochee Ward.

A consultation evening regarding the creation of a Community Sport Hub for the Lochee Area was held in February 2024 with a positive response leading to the first hub meeting in March 2024. A competition was run in primary schools in the Lochee Ward to create a logo for the newly established Community Sport Hub with the winning design coming from St Clements Primary School.

The first Community Sport Hub of the Lochee Area project was run in July 2024 with a multi sports camp for primary school aged children in the ward taking place at St Ninians Primary School during the summer holidays. The participants enjoyed activities including boxing, dance and football.
