Reconnect & Collect

We are delighted to be able begin a phased reopening our libraries because we know that, despite the popularity of our digital collections over lockdown, our customers have really missed visiting us and borrowing physical books.

It is our absolute priority to ensure we keep our customers and staff safe and we want to reassure you that all current Scottish Government recommended procedures are in place in all our libraries.

However, if you still feel a little hesitant about returning to the library just yet our Reconnect & Collect Service can help. Simply contact your local library (reopening details below) where a member of staff will find out what type of books you would like to borrow and arrange a suitable time for you to pick them up.

At this early stage of reopening we cannot guarantee a specific author or title will be available but staff will do their very best to provide you with a hand - picked selection which meets your needs.

If you are unable to travel to the library to collect your books our Outreach Team may be able to help. Contact them for an initial chat on 01382 431537 during Central Library opening hours (see below) or email connections@leisureandculturedundee.com.

How does it work?

Library staff will choose up to 10 books on your behalf. While placing reservations for specific items will not be possible at this time library staff will make every effort to choose items in response to the reading preferences you indicate at the booking stage. Items will be available for collection two working days later.

How to contact us and arrange your collection?

By phone – call us, using the numbers below, during the opening hours. A member of library staff will take your details, discuss which kind of books you like and arrange a collection slot.
