Useful information about our library

Kirkton Community Library can be found in the same building as the Community Centre, just across the street from Asda. There are comfortable chairs and a table where you can read a selection of newspapers and magazines.

There are plenty of parking spaces including 2 disabled bays outside the building. The 18 and 19 buses stop directly opposite the centre.

Services we offer

Toy Library

As well as all the services you would expect to find from your local library , Kirkton has a toy library, which has been up, and running for 3 years. You can borrow a range of toys from Jigsaws to Bouncy castles. Joining could not be easier - just bring along something which shows your name and current address, pay £1 to join and then you can borrow up to 4 toys at a time for 3 weeks (apart from the bouncy castles which you can only borrow for a few days at a time due to popularity)

Special Collections

Did you know that you could organise a special collection of large items by the Waste Management Department through your local library?

Computer Access

Free Computer access is also available and computers can be booked for up to 2 hours. There are filters in place so that children and young people are safe when surfing the web.

Relax and Read

Kirkton Library Kirkton Reading Group

Our reading group meets once a month on a Friday afternoon. Come along and enjoy the discussions and make new friends. Contact staff for more details.

Help with Exams

We have a range of study guides, past papers and books for specialist reading. We also have a range of books suitable for those of you job hunting. For example there are books on how to prepare a CV and make the most of interviews.
