Royal visit decorations, High Street, Whitehall Street, Dundee - Ref: WC1672

The photograph shows a mainly back view of the crowds. There is a little girl on right side of photograph with dress and hat wearing glasses. There is also a banner and a photograph of a Scottish Soldier. The banner states "We salute our Soldier Prince and Bid him welcome"

It was agreed that it would be left to individual companies to decide whether to close the factory or mill for the day, whether to pay for the 3 hours time off or not close at all.

Alexander Wilson who took this photograph, was a supervisor in a Dundee jute mill for over 20 years. He bequeathed much of his collection and £50, to cover the costs involved, to the Free Library Committee of Dundee in 1923
