Leisure and Culture Dundee has announced the first of their Summer Organ Sessions, aimed at promoting the Caird Hall Organ and nurturing the talent of young organists. The session will feature Ronan McQuade.

Ronan, aged 24, is in his second year of organ studies with David Hamilton at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland after some time spent studying engineering and then theology and philosophy in Rome. He is currently the organist of St. Joseph’s RC Church in Blantyre and organist of St. Aloysius’ College, Glasgow, which will take him to Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral next month. He enjoys giving organ recitals and is a regular recitalist at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Ronan is also a Trustee for the Glasgow Society of Organists. Away from the organ bench, he enjoys cooking, culture and exercise.

The concert coincides with International Organ Day, a global celebration of organ music held annually in April.

The event on Friday 19th April 2024 is free, doors open at 12.30pm and the Concert starts at 1pm
