High Street, Dundee - Ref: WC0264

Dundee's Town House takes pride of place in this photograph of the south side of High Street between the Royal Bank of Scotland building at the top of Castle Street and the Vault.

To the west of the Vault are The Plough, proprietor William Stewart at No. 18, with William T. Ross (mechanical dentist) listed at No. 19.

Listed at the same address are Scott and Graham Ltd., auctioneers, Thomas Forbes, a sheriff-officer, and W. G. Stevenson, bookbinders.

Alexander Wilson who took this photograph, was a supervisor in a Dundee jute mill for over 20 years. He bequeathed much of his collection and £50, to cover the costs involved, to the Free Library Committee of Dundee in 1923.
