High Street, Dundee

High Street, Dundee - Ref: WC0216

This photograph shows the north side of High Street, Dundee, between Reform Street (unseen to the west and left) and Commercial Street, opposite the Town House.

The Central Billiard Rooms (proprietor Thomas Mill) and the drapery belonging to W. T. Kennedy were reached through New Inn Entry, a passageway to the left of the Arctic Bar.

Not shown is the Western Club, also at that address, kept by Burnett Hay.

Alexander Wilson who took this photograph, was a supervisor in a Dundee jute mill for over 20 years. He bequeathed much of his collection and £50, to cover the costs involved, to the Free Library Committee of Dundee in 1923.
