In conversation with Debi Gliori
Award‑winning author and illustrator Debi Gliori brings warmth, humour and honesty to a special event at Steps Theatre. Known for much‑loved books including No Matter What and Stormy Night, her storytelling gently explores emotions and relationships in ways that resonate with children and their grown‑ups alike.

Dennis the Menace turns 75
Celebrate 75 years of comic chaos with a high‑energy Beano show at Steps Theatre. Directors of Mischief and Mayhem Mike Stirling and Craig Graham bring Dennis the Menace to life, sharing behind‑the‑scenes insights and inviting young audiences to help create a brand new comic strip.
Packed with laughs, creativity and audience participation, this is storytelling at its most playful.

Fantasy adventures with Ross MacKenzie
Multi‑award‑winning author Ross MacKenzie takes to the stage at Steps Theatre to explore the darkly magical worlds behind his bestselling books. From The Nowhere Emporium to his latest novel The Uninvited, this engaging session offers insight into his creative process, Scottish folklore influences and the craft of building unforgettable stories.
Poetry, play and early years creativity
Later the same day, outside The McManus, the National Poetry Library Bus welcomes pre‑school children and their families for a relaxed, interactive session of songs, rhymes and storytelling.
Led by Bookbug and Rug Rhymes, this joyful introduction to language and rhythm is designed to spark imagination and build confidence with words from an early age.
