Thousands of £1 Swim Passes to Get Dundee Children Swimming All Summer
Thousands of £1 swimming passes will be distributed to school pupils across Dundee, giving every child the opportunity to swim at the city’s pools for just £1 per session all summer long.
The initiative, Make a Splash This Summer, will enable children and young people to use any Dundee pool for just £1 per swim, helping remove cost as a barrier and encouraging more to stay active during the school holidays.
Passes will be distributed through schools in the lead‑up to the summer break, ensuring families are aware of the offer and how to take part.
The programme forms part of a wider package of free and low‑cost opportunities being delivered through the 2026 Summer of Sport, backed by Scottish Government investment and delivered locally by Dundee City Council and Leisure & Culture Dundee through Active Dundee, Active Schools and partners.
Stewart Hunter, Children and Families Convener said:
“As a city, we are all aware of the impact of the cost-of-living crisis and the rising cost of family days out during the holidays. This £1 swimming offer helps make days out more affordable for families in Dundee.
“This £1 swimming offer is just one part of our Summer of Sport programme, delivered in partnership with Leisure and Culture Dundee and sportscotland. The programme offers a wide range of inclusive, affordable and accessible activities, giving young people across Dundee more opportunities to get active and enjoy sport throughout the summer.”
Scott Urquhart, Head of Leisure, Sport and Physical Activity Services at Active Dundee said:
"We know the school holidays can be an expensive time for families, so this is about making it easier for children and young people across Dundee to stay active without cost being a barrier.
By offering access to all our pools for just £1 per swim, we’re helping families do more together over the summer, while supporting young people to build confidence in the water and develop healthy habits that can last well beyond the holidays."
