Dundee Musicians' Award - Applications Now Open!

The Dundee Musicians’ Award is staged by Leisure and Culture Dundee is now open for applications. The Award was established in 2008 to support the work of Dundee- based musicians. Grants up to a maximum of £600 available. Last year's 2023/24 winners were Neave Marr, Translation, Red King and Cameron Clark.

Neave Marr is a recording artist, songwriter from Scotland. Neave has evolved into a versatile artist, her first single Broken Girl was released in 2022 and gained instant support, helping her build an organic fanbase worldwide.

Translation is an alternative-rock outfit who started to build a reputation for themselves via live gigging – in well-known venues such as Church, Sneaky Pete’s and McChuills - before releasing their first two singles in 2023 which gained them UK and US radio play from BBC, Amazing Radio and many other stations.

Tommy Dey – RED KING is a rapper/musician based in Dundee with a recently released EP “For the Night” which received coverage from The Scotsman and Wordplay magazine and released with two pop-up events at Le Freak records, Dundee and Container Studios in Glasgow. The EP incorporates Hip Hop and electronic elements and Red King offers a uniquely Dundonian voice in the genre.

Cameron Clark is a Pianist and Fiddler hailing from Dundee. Having recently graduated from the University of Aberdeen, he is now working towards his ATCL. He previously worked for Big Noise Torry and currently works for the Feis Rois’ YMI projects in Aberdeenshire and as a pupil support assistant in schools. During his time at University, he won a scholarship at NESMS and has performed with various bands and Orchestras, especially the Aberdeen Early Music ensembles where he has played original period harpsichords and violins from the 18th century.
