Applications for the Dundee Musicians’ Award 2026/27 are now OPEN!

The Dundee Musicians’ Award, staged by Leisure & Culture Dundee, is now open for applications. The Award was established in 2008 to support the work of Dundee-based musicians. Awards of £500 to a maximum of £1,000 are available. 

Last year's 2025/26 winners were Nicola Madill, Joshua Grant, Callum Gibson and Anna Younger. 

Nicola Madill is an atmospheric folk artist from Dundee, known for her emotionally rich songwriting. Described as "hauntingly beautiful" by Gary Clark (Danny Wilson) and "spellbinding" by Roddy Hart (BBC Radio Scotland), Nicola's music blends folklore, symbolism and raw emotion into timeless soundscapes. Her album Absentee invites listeners into a world where beauty and darkness meet. Nicola received funding to support her role as the exclusive support act for Martin Stephenson's autumn UK and Ireland tour.

Joshua Grant is a Scottish singer-songwriter based in Dundee. His project supports the development of his next body of work through a series of collaborative songwriting sessions with artists from outside his genre, while remaining rooted in the pop-punk and rock sound that defines his music. Joshua received funding for cross-genre songwriting and professional production to develop and release a new EP. 

Callum Gibson, hailing from Dundee's City of Discovery, has emerged as one to watch within Scotland's music scene. His recent releases have amassed more than 6,000 streams across digital platforms and received airplay on BBC Radio Scotland. His single Gaslight was featured on Spotify's "Scotify" playlist, while the support of his growing fanbase and live band culminated in the release of his debut EP, Perceptions, in November 2024. Callum received funding towards the studio recording and production of four original songs. 

Anna Younger is an indie and alternative solo artist based in Dundee. The award will enable Anna to record and manufacture a new EP, helping her realise a long-held ambition that would otherwise have been difficult to fund independently. She hopes the project will create new opportunities for live performances and help her reach a wider audience. Anna received funding to create an EP of five to six songs, including studio sessions, photography and promotional support.
