Last Call for Singers at Caird Hall - Closing date 25 August 2023

The Friends of the Caird Hall Organ invite all to come and join them in Dundee to celebrate the centenary of the Caird Hall and its organ with FOCHO's Honorary President Gordon Stewart.

Everyone will have the opportunity to sing Gabriel Fauré's popular and moving Requiem and other well-loved pieces. Participants will also be able to enjoy the romantic colours of the magnificent Caird Hall organ, played by Dundee city organist Stuart Muir.

Gordon was one of the regular conductors of BBC television's long-running series Songs of Praise for fifteen years, and he has been musical director for broadcasts on BBC Radio 2, 3 and 4. He was born in Dundee and studied in Manchester and Geneva and a cathedral organist, first in Manchester then in Blackburn. In recent years he has been awarded honorary fellowships by the Royal College of Organists, the Guild of Church Musicians and the Royal School of Church Music, and an honorary doctorate by the University of Huddersfield. Gordon has recently been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to Music in the Kings Birthday Honours list.

Singers' places cost £20 each (£15 for Friends of the Caird Hall Organ members, £5 for students and schoolchildren).
