Picture shows an advertising hoarding on a wall for Dundee Courier & Dundee Weekly News. Alex Tulloch, Shoe Shop and Strathtay House a clothing shop advertising school outfits, foreign outfits and ladies tailors. Horse and cart with planks of wood in the foreground.

Windows to view the procession were offered to rent. One advert from Wilson, 5 Reform Street offered the best position in the city windows to let in Commercial Street, opposite Queens Hotel, Nethergate and a balcony above the Dundee Arms also in the Nethergate.


Alexander Wilson who took this photograph, was a supervisor in a Dundee jute mill for over 20 years. He bequeathed much of his collection and £50, to cover the costs involved, to the Free Library Committee of Dundee in 1923
