Lindsay Street, Dundee - Ref: WC0337

This photograph shows the south west section of South Lindsay Street, with John W. Swan the hairdresser at No. 14.

J. A. Maclean's auction rooms were at No. 8. The Wellgate Library's Lamb Collection includes a sale catalogue for Winter Furs, which included, at Lot 19, a grey Tasmanian opossum skin, and, at Lot 68, a brown racoon skin muff.

Beyond School Wynd United Free Church is Alexander Birnie, the photographic dealer.

Alexander Wilson who took this photograph, was a supervisor in a Dundee jute mill for over 20 years. He bequeathed much of his collection and £50, to cover the costs involved, to the Free Library Committee of Dundee in 1923.
