This photograph shows the junction of the southern end of Lindsay Street and Nethergate, which the Old Steeple to the east and right.

On the opposite corner stands A. Davie's dentistry. Like his predecessor, John Stewart, Davie seems to have specialised in false teeth fitting.

Beyond Birnie's photography shop at No. 4 Lindsay Street are the School Wynd United Free church and the auction rooms belonging to J. A. MacLean.


Alexander Wilson who took this photograph, was a supervisor in a Dundee jute mill for over 20 years. He bequeathed much of his collection and £50, to cover the costs involved, to the Free Library Committee of Dundee in 1923.
