Dudhope Bowling Club, Dundee - Ref: WC1866
This interesting photograph shows bowlers at Dudhope Bowling Club. Local Studies, Central Library, Dundee has in its Lamb Collection some extremely fascinating material relating to this club.
A.C.Lamb was an avid collector of all types of information about Dundee. He was a member of the Dudhope Bowling Club and the material preserved includes a small rule book from1882, postcards from the 1880s -90s and various news cuttings. (Ref. 115(9), 115(10).
Alexander Wilson who took this photograph, was a supervisor in a Dundee jute mill for over 20 years. He bequeathed much of his collection and £50, to cover the costs involved, to the Free Library Committee of Dundee in 1923.
