The central building in this photograph of the south-west section of Lindsay Street are the Old Steeple Auction Rooms at No. 8. The Dundee Directory for 1906 lists J. A. Maclean, F. A. I. Auctioneer.

To the left is School Wynd United Free Church, while No. 10 is occupied by John Kirk, boot manufacturer.

No. 14 belonged to John W. Swan, a hairdresser.


Alexander Wilson who took this photograph, was a supervisor in a Dundee jute mill for over 20 years. He bequeathed much of his collection and £50, to cover the costs involved, to the Free Library Committee of Dundee in 1923.
