Day of Dance for Women and Girls in Sport Week

Fifty-one school pupils participated in a 'Day of Dance' at The Space on Monday 2nd October as part of Women and Girls in Sport week, organised by a Leisure & Culture Dundee team, Gillian Pack (Active Schools) and Alex Hare (Urban Moves).

The school pupils worked extremely hard and participated in four dance workshops with Dundee and Angus College, Urban Moves, Active Schools and visiting Edinburgh-based Dance Artist, Ashley Jack. The pupils were also treated to a surprise dance performance from the BA Dance students.

Gillian Pack from Active Schools said "It was such an amazing day learning lots of new dance skills, meeting new people and wonderful to see all our organisations working in partnership together to create such a special and inspiring day for these young girls, as well as watching these youngsters being so supportive towards each other."

"It was fantastic to be able to host the event at The Space, such a beautiful building (perhaps some of these youngers will choose to study here one day) and we were very lucky to have use of the stage and lighting too, to share some of their own choreography."
