Applications open for Dundee Musicians' Award

Applications open for Dundee Musicians' Award

Applications are now being invited for the Dundee Musicians' Award 2022/23. The Dundee Musicians' Award is staged by Leisure & Culture Dundee. The Award was established in 2008 to support the work of outstanding Dundee-based musicians by awarding grants towards the costs involved in creating new work in any genre, research and professional development. The awards support musician's projects that look at creative development through collaborations, working with new partners, or new producers. This year five awards were given to Suzanne Shaw (SHHE), PLASMAS, Heather Miranda, Robert Miles Miller and 2Stoned Birds. Due to the impact of rising costs, the Dundee Musicians Award has increased the Grants up to a maximum of £600.

Moira Methven, Chair of Leisure & Culture Dundee said

"The Dundee Musicians Award recognises the need for musicians to be given support for their creative practice and career development and is an invaluable opportunity for musicians to remain active and grow within the Dundee music scene."

Ross McQueen from PLASMAS said

"We are so grateful to have received this award and can't thank Leisure & Culture Dundee enough, it's really an incredible resource for young musicians in Dundee."

The closing date for applications is Friday, 23 December 2022.
