Outer Forms, Inner Spaces - Exhibition
This exhibition, by Lynda Watson, 'Outer Forms, Inner Spaces', focuses on the phenomena of space, form and surface. The work is abstract in meaning symbolising the concept of containing or protecting and represents those spaces deep within our imaginings where we keep hidden our thoughts, memories and emotions.
Lynda grew up in Forfar and after spending 20 years working away returned to Dundee to study at Duncan of Jordanstone graduating with an MFA in Fine Art and Humanities in 2017. Her work is inspired by a love of the natural world, a fascination with other cultures and is influenced by the Spanish Masters.
'Outer Forms, Inners Spaces' also alludes to the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi which considers the notion of impermanence and reveres the idea that beauty can be imperfect or incomplete.
