Sustain Your Errors Performances
Vision | Free.
An informal evening of art works interpreting and responding to artist and musician David Cunninghams Error System. The evening will include experimental performances of the Error System scores by participating workshops artists andresponses by invitedartists Saoirse Anis and Atzi Muramatsu. The Error System scores and ideas were produced by David Cunningham for his 1976 vinyl LP Grey Scale. The work is based on simple instruction sets, algorithms and heuristics. The scores are intensely repetitive and form potentially never ending looped systems. The invitation is for a group of performers to input into a system and to attempt the fundamental tactic of sustaining their errors. This event is the outcome of the Sustain Your Errors Workshops which take place on Friday 23 November 11am-5pm and Saturday 24 November 10am-2pm facilitated by movement artist Saffy Setohy and musician and media archivist Adam Lockhart, and devised by David Cunningham and Cicely Farrer.
The workshops are free and open to everyone, please email Cicely via firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to attend. If you have access requirements, please email in advance so we can work to best accommodate.
