Books For Groups

Are you in a reading group or thinking about starting one?

If so why not take advantage of our brand new free service – Books for Groups.

All you need to do is register your group at any of our libraries and you can borrow multiple copies of a wide range of popular titles from traditional classics such as Pride & Prejudice to contemporary thrillers like Nesbo’s Snowman.

Blackness Library Refurbishment

Work to improve access to the first floor rooms in Blackness Community Library began at the end of February. The construction of a rear extension incorporating a lift, fire escape and new toilets in the B-listed building was approved by Historic Scotland last summer. The 28 week project is on schedule. The building will be closed for a period of six weeks in June but library services will continue to be delivered from Logie and St John's Parish Church.

Hitting the Target

Overhead kicks, wild celebrations and silky soccer - these are things not usually associated with a public library but these were the order of the day as we ran an Xbox360 football tournament in the Steps theatre, Central Library.

We ran the tournament to promote library services for young people and also to highlight the Show Racism the Red Card campaign.
