Can't find the book you've been looking for?
We have a request service available. If you cannot find the item you are looking for we will locate the book at another library and then you can collect it from any library you wish.
There is a small charge for this service.
Reading Group
Our reading group meet every month, on the last Tuesday, from 2pm - 3pm. We read one book per month and then discuss it at the next meeting.
Stuck in a reading rut? This is the opportunity to read something different, something you wouldn't normally choose. Some of the varied titles we have read so far are Sunset Song, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Divide, The Mephisto Club and Crow Road.
Occasionally we invite an author to come along and speak about their work. We have played host to local authors such as Malcolm Archibald and Andrew Murray Scott and Scottish writers Aline Templeton and Eileen Ramsay.
Homework Club
The out of school hours learning club is held every Wednesday afternoon, 3.45 pm - 4.45 pm, after school breaks up for the day. Qualified teachers from local schools take these sessions where they offer help, support and fun.
Forms for joining the homework club can be found in any library. Spaces are limited and if a place is not immediately available, your application will be placed on a waiting list.
Past Papers
We have a large collection of past exam papers for Standard, Higher and Intermediate 1 and 2 grades. These can be borrowed for a 3-week period and you can extend the loan period if you require.
Storytimes
We have a weekly storytime session for pre school children, aged from 3 years, on Friday mornings at 10.30 am. The storytimes last for about half an hour and parents/carers must stay with their child/children. Please ask staff for more details.
Refreshments
Tea and coffee is available every day. Where else can you relax, read a newspaper and have a cuppa all for 20p?
