Lochee Community Library

Books on Table

Did you know that Lochee Library opened in 1896? It was the first Branch Library in Dundee and had 5,000 books. Now, with over 10,000 items we are still a popular and busy library in the heart of Lochee with a wide variety of resources and activities to suit all ages. We have fiction and non-fiction books for everyone to enjoy, DVDs, talking books, and much more. Relax with a newspaper or magazine while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee.

Come along and see what's on offer: you are sure to find something. Our friendly staff are always happy to help, so why not visit us soon. We are waiting!

Interested in computers? If you'd like to be able to use a computer but are terrified, why don't you give us a call or drop in and we can arrange a taster for you with either our resident voluntary worker or with one of our staff. There is free Internet access and we have a wide variety of software packages available.

For children - how about our After School Games and Craft Club? Come and meet new friends and enjoy making something at the Craft Club, or play a board game. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Hungry Hippos and Spirograph are just some of the games we have. The Club is held every Tuesday from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm. We also have loads of events and activities during the holidays.

Looking for a job or career? Let the job shop staff help you every Friday morning from 9:00 am - 12 noon. They can answer any questions you might have and are also on hand to help you with writing up your CV.
