There are easier-to-read story books for children starting to read on their own. Novels to suit all tastes are available in both hardback and paperback.

Talking books - up to 4 books on CD can be borrowed free of charge.
The Parents' Collection is a selection of books containing childcare information for parents, teachers and those involved with children's development.
Children under 14 may request books not readily available, free of charge.
Playgroups and nurseries may apply for group membership and borrow up to 30 books at a time. Storytelling sessions led by library staff can also be arranged. Class visits for school children can be organised.
