Making Room

This new civic space for the city is comprised of fragments of architectural features found in and around Dundee. Developed over several months, blending digital and traditional techniques of production – ‘Making Room’ has sought to explore the fabric of the city that surrounds us. The project was conceived by Assemble, V&A Dundee’s designers in residence, working with a group of young people from Dundee.

‘Making Room’ acts as a living library of Dundee’s built heritage and current environment, inviting us all to take note and to look out for moments of beauty in our everyday surroundings.

It is appropriately surrounded by a rich collection of books and manuals on Architecture, Art, Craft and Design.

The space can be booked for events and activities.
