Leisure & Culture Dundee in partnership with Scottish Rugby is currently working with Rugby clubs across the city, to grow and develop the sport in a co-ordinated and progressive manner. By ensuring that a positive and friendly environment exists for players, coaches, volunteers and officials - we want everyone to enjoy the game.
It could be argued that Rugby in Dundee has struggled in recent times, however with a joined-up approach across the city, we are now beginning to see the positive impact of the great work by many. The importance of flourishing Youth Rugby teams is essential to the development of a sustainable playing base across Scotland – none more so than in Dundee. LACD play an integral role in the engagement of clubs with schools and creating a pathway for players to get the most from their Rugby journey – whether it be into university rugby, adult recreational rugby or making the step up to professional and international Rugby.
In conjunction with schools and tertiary education, LACD is committed to growing the sport through developing a sustainable infrastructure and investing in people within the game, be it through instilling Scottish Rugby’s core values (Respect, Leadership, Achievement, Engagement & Enjoyment) or providing support through coach education to upskill coaches and therefore players – Dundee offers a wide range of activities from and benefits for those in the game.
So why not #getinvolved?
Whether you have tried out Rugby before or not, as a player, coach, volunteer or official – get in touch with LACD and see how you can #getinvolved in Dundee!
