Fitness classes are welcomed back in Dundee

Fitness classes are welcomed back in Dundee

Today (Monday 17 May), fitness classes resumed for the first time this year at gyms across Dundee, as the easing of Scottish Government restrictions continues. Leisure & Culture Dundee, one of the biggest fitness providers in the city, have released a new timetable with over 50 group exercise sessions per week at multiple venues including DISC, Douglas Sports Centre, Menzieshill Community Hub and Olympia Activity Pool delivered by their Leisureactive team.

Gyms opened for individual exercise in April and the Leisureactive team have been working hard to prepare venues for classes ahead of reopening by putting in place enhanced cleaning procedures and social distancing measures. Classes include the world-leading LES MILLS™ fitness, group cycling, body combat, circuits, Zumba and aquafit. These should be booked ahead via an online booking system, app or by phoning the venue.

Ewan Gray, Fitness Manager with Leisureactive said

"The return of indoor group exercise is fantastic news, and we cannot wait to welcome everyone to our classes. Group workouts are great for motivation and full of encouragement for participants. We have something for everyone, whether they are beginning their fitness journey or are an experienced gym member. Our classes also have the benefit of carrying a low risk of injury and are all led by qualified fitness professionals. We know how important exercise is in supporting mental and physical wellbeing and can't wait to get started."

Leisureactive is currently offering 50% off for new members and this has now been extended until 31 May to welcome group exercise class enthusiasts. The full group exercise timetable for May 2021 is available here and if anyone has enquiries, they can contact the Leisureactive membership team by emailing leisureactive@leisureandculturedundee.com
