It has been announced that Urban Moves Dance Company will perform at the Breakin’ Convention 2017 alongside world-wide hip hop acts at the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh on Saturday May 6 after being successful at auditions for the event. The elite group of dancers are part of a large scale dance programme run by Leisure & Culture Dundee and train on a weekly basis at Harris Swim & Sports Centre.
Breakin' Convention is the UK's biggest hip hop theatre festival, presenting dance by companies and crews from around the world. The 2017 festival includes live performances from top hip hop dance crews including Soweto Skeleton Movers (South Africa) and Tentacle Tribe (Canada) and Just Dance (South Korea). The main event is held at Sadler's Wells Theatre in London thereafter the show goes off on tour throughout the UK including the show in Edinburgh.

“We took the group of 14 dancers aged between 16 and 21 years old through to Edinburgh for the auditions and have now been told that the dancers have been selected. It is fantastic news as this convention is one of the most prestigious in our dance genre and culture. This dedicated group show great enthusiasm for street dance and Hip Hop culture and thrive on training hard to develop their dance skills.”
The Urban Moves Dance Company are also available to be booked for corporate events and the group are also planning a trip to London in March to take the company to the biggest dance convention in the UK, 'Move It'.
