Royal visit decorations,West Station, Dundee - Ref: WC1662

Photograph shows the West Station with barriers erected, decorations and crowds of people walking away from the camera. Special trains/ferry trips were arranged from Fife, Perth, Arbroath Carnoustie to see the royal procession.

The Royal train arrived in the morning and the procession went directly to open the Royal Victoria Hospital and then to Albert Square for the unveiling of the Statute and a meal at the City Chambers leaving again at 4.15pm


Alexander Wilson who took this photograph, was a supervisor in a Dundee jute mill for over 20 years. He bequeathed much of his collection and £50, to cover the costs involved, to the Free Library Committee of Dundee in 1923
