Royal visit decorations, Tay Bridge Station, Dundee - Ref: WC1679

View of entrance to station from what is now Discovery Quay.

The photograph shows the entrance to the Station with a banner "Welcome to Dundee" across the road. The Standard Life Assurance Building at Craig Pier with flags and bunting.

Special trains/ferry trips were arranged from Fife, Perth, Arbroath, Carnoustie for people to attend the procession. There was also a firework display on Magdalen Green in the evening.


Alexander Wilson who took this photograph, was a supervisor in a Dundee jute mill for over 20 years. He bequeathed much of his collection and £50, to cover the costs involved, to the Free Library Committee of Dundee in 1923
