High Street, Dundee - Ref: WC0252

Reading from west to east, this photograph shows the north side of Dundee's High Street, with the Overgate leading off to the west at the extreme left, and the first building at the left is Strathtay House, at the southern end of Reform Street.

George Morris the bookseller is No. 72, the goldsmiths, watchmakers and jewellers next door is Robertson and Watt.

Glasgow Colosseum Warehouse Co. is at Nos. 74 and 75, with John Pellow the printer at No. 76.


Alexander Wilson who took this photograph, was a supervisor in a Dundee jute mill for over 20 years. He bequeathed much of his collection and £50, to cover the costs involved, to the Free Library Committee of Dundee in 1923.
