High Street, Dundee

High Street, Dundee - Ref: WC0217

The southern side of Dundee's High Street is shown in this photograph, running from east to west, left to right.

The light grey building at its focal point is the Royal Bank of Scotland, with Tindal's Wynd to the right and Castle Street to the left.

Henry Adams & Son were glovemakers, William Bell and William Hutchen both tailors, and William Doig & Sons a chemist / druggist.

Alexander Wilson who took this photograph, was a supervisor in a Dundee jute mill for over 20 years. He bequeathed much of his collection and £50, to cover the costs involved, to the Free Library Committee of Dundee in 1923.
