Whether you are new to the studio or just new to us, you will need to complete a short induction before you can access the Fitness Studio.
This is a simple session, where our fully qualified and friendly staff are on hand to guide you through the equipment and start to discuss your fitness goals.
Once you have completed an induction at a Leisure and Culture Dundee studio, you can then access any of our studios in Dundee.
At Olympia, our Fitness Coaches are fully trained in carrying out our new Fitech Health and Fitness Assessments.
These assessments will test your:
- Total Cholesterol
- Blood Glucose
- Body Fat %
- Body Mass Index
- VO2 Max
- Blood Pressure
Once your session is complete, the Fitness Coach will place all of your results together and e-mail you your personalised Health and Fitness report. Results are shown in an easy to read graphical format with a written explanation of what each result means. Our coaches can also provide you with factsheets about certain topics which you may be interested to learn more about.
Fitech Fitness Assessments cost just £6.00 to all leisureactive members and £12.00 to all non members.
Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes in the Olympia Fitness Studio.

Our 44 station fitness studio has everything you would want and more with our great mix of cardiovascular and resistance equipment, including treadmills, cross trainers, rowing machines, bikes and more.
If you get bored too easily while working out, then don’t despair, as most of our machines have integrated 15” LCD touchscreen displays allowing you to operate an extensive range of fitness programmes or simply watch television with our built in Freeview channels. If that’s not enough, you can even hook up your MP3 player to our touch screens and have your own choice of music. Headphones are required for these features.
Still not enough? Well you will also be able to watch all of the top sports action on our 52” screens which will be showing Sky Sports, ESPN and also all of the best music channels to help keep you motivated.

Fitness Class Bookings
You can book fitness classes online, on the App, in person and by telephone. If fitness classes are not included in your membership you must pay at the time of booking.
Online and App bookings open at 9pm. If fitness classes are included in your membership you can book 9 days in advance online and via the App and 8 days in advance in person or on the phone.
You can book as many classes as you want * however, we ask that you only book classes that you are likely to attend to ensure everyone gets the opportunity to book their favourite class.
* We reserve the right to introduce advanced booking restrictions at times where classes of the same type are ‘High Demand’. During such times, the member will only be able to make one advanced booking. Subject to availability, additional bookings for high demand classes can be made 24 hour in advance. This restriction currently only applies to Monday and Wednesday Aquafit at 11am and 12pm.

You can also check your bookings by clicking 'My bookings' on the App or you check 'upcoming bookings' on the online booking page.
Arriving in time for your class
We kindly ask customers who have booked into a class to swipe attendance at reception at least 10 minutes prior to the class starting, to allow enough time to get to the studio or pool and be ready for your class starting. Please note, if you do not swipe your attendance in this time frame, you may lose you space.
Fitness class cancellations
Isn’t it frustrating when you can’t get a place in your favourite fitness class? Even more so when you find out that a space was available because someone booked but didn’t turn up or cancelled at the very last minute! It may shock you to learn that we have several such occurrences every week. That’s a lot of people missing out on the chance to enjoy the brilliant buzz of group exercise!
Please cancel more than 3 hours before the class is due to start to allow other customers the opportunity to gain a space in the class
