The Dundee Penguins got dressed up as Celtic warriors to welcome the 'Reflections on Celts' exhibition to The McManus: Dundee's Art Gallery & Museum. They are already proving a hit, with pictures being uploaded to social sites with the hashtag #ReflectionsOnCelts @McManusDundee.
'Reflections on Celts' is a national partnership between National Museums Scotland and the British Museum featuring two Iron Age mirrors – the British Museum’s Holcombe mirror and National Museums Scotland’s Balmaclellan mirror – which tell very different stories, and help us to understand the relationships between communities in Britain 2,000 years ago.
The mirrors are supplemented by key objects from The McManus’ collection which will explore the history of the Celts in Dundee and the surrounding area. Highlights include John Duncan’s The Riders of the Sidhe, a replica of the Hunterston Brooch, plus a stunning 3D visualisation of the Dundee Law as you’ve never seen it before!
The Reflections on Celts tour is generously supported by the Dorset Foundation.
