To mark St. Andrew’s Day, Leisure & Culture Dundee brings you Fusion Festival. Linking Scotland and it’s communities through music, dance and fusing the different styles together, the festival is a celebration of modern day Scotland.
The event reflects the diversity that is found in Dundee, offering something in a familiar but unusual guise, widening horizons to bring different cultures together in a unique experience.
Hosted by Gary Robinson, festivities get underway with a pipe band followed by energetic performances from acts including Bharatiya Ashram Dancers, Chinese Harpist Luna Li and Scotland’s only professional classical sitarist Paul Wright aka Positar. For the afternoon finale; take your partners and join in the ceilidh dancing with the Mad Parrot Ceilidh Band.
Dundee Fusion Festival is funded by BEMIS Scotland as part of St. Andrew’s Fair Saturday Festival. This is a partnership between BEMIS Scotland, The Beacon Arts Centre Greenock, Caird Hall Dundee and the Scottish Government.
