Jason Manford:  • Muddle Class • Saturday 15 September 2018

Phil McIntyre Entertainments, by arrangement with Lisa Thomas Management

Proudly presents:

Jason Manford: Muddle Class

He’s back! It’s been a busy few years for Jason since his last smash-hit stand up show but fans of his Absolute Radio show will know this nationally acclaimed comedian hasn’t changed a bit. 'Muddle Class' promises to feature a wealth of new material about Jason growing up ‘working class’ then finding, over the years, that part of him has become ‘middle class’ - causing much confusion! Delivered with Jason’s amiable charm and captivating wit, this is a show not to be missed.

Jason said: “Somebody said to me on my Facebook fan page, 'it's been ages since you've toured'. I thought 'no way, it was last year wasn't it? Anyway, long story short, they were right, it was years ago! I just got fooled cos I've been on tour doing musicals and the last tour is repeated on Dave ja Vu 13 times a day! So I’ve been putting some stuff together, looking at my life and how it's changed over the years, how the world has changed and how my parents haven't changed a bit! It's going to be a great tour and I can't wait to see you there.

‘8 out of 10 Cats’ (Channel 4), ‘The Nightly Show’ (ITV1), ‘Sunday Night at the Palladium’ (ITV1), ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC One), ‘Have I Got News For You’, (BBC One), QI (BBC Two) and ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ (ITV1) have all helped establish Jason as a nationally known comic.

Erasure • plus support Bright Light Bright Light • Friday 2 February 2018

It’s hard to think of another songwriting partnership as golden as that of Erasure. For 32 years, without a break or break-up, Andy Bell and Vince Clarke have mined a rich seam of creativity that has led to chart-conquering singles, a string of immaculate albums, a BRIT, an Ivor Novello Award and now World Be Gone, their seventeenth studio album.

Since releasing their first single in 1985, Erasure have sold more than 25 million albums worldwide. Their 30th anniversary celebrations saw them deliver a Top 10 collection of singles, a 13-disc career-spanning box set and vinyl editions of their entire back catalogue.

Since then, they’ve been busier than ever. In addition to recording World Be Gone, in 2016 Vince Clarke set up his own label, Very Records, releasing 2Square, his collaboration with Paul Hartnoll, and the Reed & Caroline debut, Buchla & Singing. Andy Bell continued to explore the character of Torsten through the critically acclaimed theatrical production Torsten The Beautiful Libertine and an album of the same name. A remix album, further detailing this “polysexual semi-immortal” character was released in 2016. Bell’s solo debut album, Electric Blue, has been remastered and repackaged for release in 2017.

Shane Filan • "Love Always" Tour 2017 plus Support Guy Sebastian • Wednesday 20 September 2017

Hot off the back of announcing his new album "Love Always" Shane Filan has announced his major indoor UK Tour - "Love Always" - taking in some of the UK's best loved venues, and the tour is coming to Dundee Caird Hall on Wednesday 20 September 2017.

Shane says,

"Love Always, is a collection of some of my favourite classic love songs. It's an album I've wanted to make for a long time. For me there's nothing quite like singing an amazing ballad and this album is full of them. Some of the suggestions for songs came directly from my fans because they would always say to me, we would love to hear you sing this song. So, I decided to make a list of all my favourite love songs and then put them together on one album. The hard part was narrowing it down to those on the album. There's also a few original tracks on there, some that I've written myself. It's always amazing to get into the studio and see what we can create. I can't wait for my fans to hear the album. It has been a long time coming."

Shane has cemented his position as one of the UK's most popular male solo artists, following phenomenal success with Westlife - one of the world's most successful bands of the last few decades - and his own hugely successful "Right Here" Tour in 2016, which saw fans pleading for another run on the road. Shane was keen to oblige and the idea for "Love Always" was soon born, with this latest tour including all his popular hits and tracks from the new album, as well as the tracks most synonymous with Shane.

Westlife had fourteen chart topping singles and forty-four million sales. Their career, Shane says, "fulfilled all of our dreams 1000 times over." It's been a remarkable journey for a singer songwriter who grew up inspired by an admiration of Backstreet Boys and Michael Jackson.

The first ever visit to the Caird Hall Dundee by The Russian State Ballet and Opera House

The Nutcracker – A timeless classic of festive season.

Music by Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky
Featuring live Orchestra with over 30 musicians

‘Visually it was stunning and a feast for the eyes. Thoroughly enjoyable.’  Michael Hasted – Stage Talk Magazine

Russian State Ballet and Opera House is back with the vibrant, breath-taking and enchanting ballet production, which will be a feast for the eyes and will delight the whole family.

The Nutcracker is an eternal seasonal favourite directed and choreographed by the former Bolshoi Ballet Soloist, Konstantin Uralsky.

The Christmas story is based on The Nutcracker and the Mouse King written by E.T.A. Hoffmann. It tells the story of Marie, a melancholy little girl, whose godfather Drosselmeyer gives her a nutcracker doll as a present on Christmas Eve. But the simple wooden nutcracker turns into a prince and the magic starts…

Snow flurries, sweets, princes, magic and love are just some of the elements that will be brought together by this renowned Russian company. A highly accessible ballet, full of familiar music such as the ‘Waltz of the Flowers’ and the ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’.

The Nutcracker continues to capture the hearts and imagination of different generations from all over the world. It is a truly captivating piece of theatre, a wonderful introduction to ballet for anyone who has never experienced it and retains its appeal for anyone who is familiar with it.

“Some Guys Have All The Luck” • The Rod Stewart Story • Friday 26 January 2018

Hit Show Returns To Caird Hall…

Due to amazing demand Some Guys Have All The Luck returns to the Caird Hall Dundee on Friday 26 January 2018

Some Guys Have All the Luck celebrates the career of one of rock’s greatest icons, Rod Stewart – from street busker to international superstar.

Star of the Show Paul Metcalfe says:

“Rod Stewart’s life has been graced with significant strokes of luck along the way and I’ve picked out some of these as key moments in the new show. Rod has made the most of this luck combining it with hard graft and talent and I feel as lucky to be performing his current songs as much as the classics like Maggie May.”

Paul Metcalfe delivers both an authentic and charismatic performance as Rod Stewart; from the distinctive vocals to the swaggering showmanship and sheer fun that has made Rod one of the most loved performers of all time.

The musical show “Some Guys Have All the Luck” charts Rod Stewart’s career chronologically and highlights some of the significant strokes of luck which helped the rock legend during his stellar career. The show also features songs from Rod Stewart’s time with “The Faces” as well as a full concert production in the second half of the show with classic hits including Maggie May, Baby Jane, Da Ya Think I’m Sexy, Sailing and You’re in My Heart.

We all make our own luck, but some guys really do have it all!
