Returning to the Caird Hall Dundee with two performances only on Sunday
18 November 2018.
The Russian State Ballet and Opera House
Swan Lake - timeless Ballet with exquisite dancing
Music by Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky
Featuring live Orchestra with over 30 musicians
Following a near sell out performance last year, The Russian State Ballet and Opera House is back for their annual UK tour with a mesmerising, and captivating full touring ballet production.
One hundred and thirty-five years ago, audiences heard the Swan Lake music by the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky for the very first time. From this moment on, the world of ballet would never be the same again.
Swan Lake is a tale of two young women, Odette and Odile, who resemble each other so closely one can easily be mistaken for the other.
It is the compelling legend of a tragic romance in which a princess, Odette, is turned into a swan by an evil curse. Prince Siegfried chances upon a flock of swans while out hunting. When one of the swans turns into a beautiful young woman he is instantly captivated - will his love prove strong enough to break the evil spell that she is under?
From the impressive splendour of the palace ballroom to the moonlit lake where swans glide in perfect formation, this compelling tale of tragic romance has it all.
Swan Lake captures, like no other, the full range of human emotions - from hope to despair, from terror to tenderness, from melancholy to ecstasy.
A wonderful ballet from which you will cherish memories for a long time.

Walk Right Back • The Everly Brothers Story • Wednesday 23 May 2018
THE GREATEST MUSICAL DUO OF ALL TIME IS ABOUT TO WALK RIGHT BACK INTO YOUR LIFE – CAIRD HALL DUNDEE
WEDNESDAY 23 May 2018
From the Producers of That'll be the Day and direct from the West End comes Walk Right Back, a brand-new musical production telling the story of the most successful duo of all time - The Everly Brothers. Featuring hits such as Bye Bye Love, All I Have To Do Is Dream & Cathy’s Clown, this unique concert-based musical entwines the wonderful, sad yet glorious story of The Everly Brothers.
Follow the brothers’ rise from humble country beginnings to the biggest duo act the world had ever seen, then their inevitable split and decade-long feud, to the magnificent reunion that gave them back to the world, and back to each other.
With “harmonies from heaven” that influenced The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and Simon & Garfunkel, The Everly Brothers were unmatched in their talent.
Director Peter John Jackson Says: “The Everly Brothers were an original and unique act that had a sound like nothing else. Their harmonies were so tight that every group wanted to emulate them. Before that there was a singer, a band and backing vocals, The Everly’s entwined all of them and created “the harmony group.”
International Everly Brothers Fan Club favourites, Luke and Aaron Wilson star as the iconic brothers.
Producer Ollie Gray says: “Casting was a big challenge as we felt it a must to have siblings playing Don and Phil, but after a long search we spotted two young brothers that were already honing their own tribute to the Everly Brothers. We were struck not only by their vocal blend but also their uncanny resemblance to Don and Phil Everly.”
Walk Right Back is the first show of its kind to tell this phenomenal story of two brothers and their unforgettable music. Also featuring songs from a couple of the Everly Brothers' good friends, Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison, Walk Right Back is surely a show not to be missed!
Isaac Donald "Don" Everly (born 1st February 1937) and Phillip "Phil" Everly (19th January 1939 – 3rd January 2014) were elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. The Everly Brothers peformed at the Caird Hall Dundee on 13 October 1987 with support by Ralph McTell.

Jason Manford: Muddle Class
He’s back! It’s been a busy few years for Jason since his last smash-hit stand up show but fans of his Absolute Radio show will know this nationally acclaimed comedian hasn’t changed a bit. 'Muddle Class' promises to feature a wealth of new material about Jason growing up ‘working class’ then finding, over the years, that part of him has become ‘middle class’ - causing much confusion! Delivered with Jason’s amiable charm and captivating wit, this is a show not to be missed.
Jason said: “Somebody said to me on my Facebook fan page, 'it's been ages since you've toured'. I thought 'no way, it was last year wasn't it? Anyway, long story short, they were right, it was years ago! I just got fooled cos I've been on tour doing musicals and the last tour is repeated on Dave ja Vu 13 times a day! So I’ve been putting some stuff together, looking at my life and how it's changed over the years, how the world has changed and how my parents haven't changed a bit! It's going to be a great tour and I can't wait to see you there.
‘8 out of 10 Cats’ (Channel 4), ‘The Nightly Show’ (ITV1), ‘Sunday Night at the Palladium’ (ITV1), ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC One), ‘Have I Got News For You’, (BBC One), QI (BBC Two) and ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ (ITV1) have all helped establish Jason as a nationally known comic.
“Effortlessly entertaining” ****
