Award winning writer, television presenter and Scotland’s best known outdoor commentator, Cameron McNeish, will give an illustrated talk about his work and travels at Steps Theatre, Dundee Central Library on Saturday 5 October, 2019 at 2.30pm.
As a passionate mountaineer and hillwalker Cameron has climbed and hiked extensively in Scotland, and has led treks in Nepal, India, Pakistan, Jordan, Morocco, Guatemala, Turkey and North America.
Television successes include The Edge: 100 Years of Scottish Mountaineering; two series of Wilderness Walks; and The Adventure Show. He is a Vice President of Ramblers Scotland and Patron of Scottish Orienteering and Mountain Aid. He is also an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society.
His talk, There’s Always the Hills, look back on his adventurous life and examines some of the books and individuals that have most inspired him.
Cameron has spoken in Dundee many times in the past, particularly at the annual Dundee Mountain Film Festival.
"I love coming to Dundee to give talks. There is a large outdoor community in the city and audiences are always so appreciative and knowledgeable. I'm already looking forward to visiting the Central Library in October."
