20p travel for kids during school holidays

There is great news for families planning to visit Leisure & Culture Dundee attractions including The McManus, Broughty Castle Museum, Olympia, Dundee Ice Arena and Libraries during the schools holidays.

Xplore Dundee, Stagecoach East Scotland, Moffat and Williamson, Smarter Choices Smarter Places and Dundee City Council are once again teaming up to offer kids bus tickets for just 20p.

The Holiday Hop covers all journeys in the ABC Dundee ticket zone and will run until Sunday 15 April and means up to three kids can travel for just 20p each when travelling with an adult.

Lynne Short convener of Dundee City Council’s city development committee said

“We want to help parents and grandparents who might find it hard to afford to take bairns to see some of the loads of interesting and free things the city has to offer.

“Places like The McManus, Broughty Castle and the Discovery Walk are all free but the bus fares to get to them could add up with two or three children."

Managing Director Elsie Turbyne said

“The Holiday Hop offers great value bus travel for families this Easter and we’re glad to be partnering with Dundee City Council, Smarter Choices Smarter Places, Stagecoach and Moffat & Williamson to bring back this special fare.

“Our network of routes covers all the main shopping destinations, leisure pursuits and visitor attractions that Dundee has to offer.  It’s a great time to get on board our buses!”

Douglas Robertson, Commercial Director, Stagecoach East Scotland said

"We're delighted to be taking part in this scheme again.  There are so many events and great places to visit in Dundee and it's now even easier for families to get out and about by bus using our network of services, for less!"
